DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION


The department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics is concerned with treatment of disease and defects of dental hard tissues mainly restoring the form, function and aesthetics. Endodontics deals with root canal treatment, endodontic surgery and regenerative procedures. By considering the present era and upcoming future, world emphasizes more on preservation with precision. Procedures such as cosmetic, esthetic correction of teeth and various restorative procedure such as amalgam, GIC, Composite are carried out in our department. This department caters to a huge patient load and renders treatment to various dental disease like dental caries, pulpal and periradicular diseases, developmental malformation of teeth, discoloured teeth, traumatized teeth and management of pain.


The department infrastructure includes,
• Undergraduate clinic
• Post graduate clinic
• Preclinical lab with phantom heads for both under and postgraduate students
• Ceramic lab
• Microsurgery room with dental operating microscope
• Wet and dry sterilization areas
• Well equipped seminar hall with LCD projector and visualizer.

The vision of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics department (APDCH) are as follows,
• To create highly skilled dental professionals and to serve rural population in this region which is provided with well equipped and advanced treatment care for enriching their lives.
• To provide top quality education matching international standards for the students who are made to work with advanced equipments coupled with innovative teaching methods.
• To encourage students to come with innovative ideas and carry out their own research under the guidance of faculty.

Our mission is to make a center of excellence for high level teaching – learning process and to evolve the knowledge of students through research. To make an effective contribution to the society, especially rural area.
• To make students communicate better with patients through orientation in student centric learning environment
• To develop competent, well efficient dental professionals with appropriate knowledge and skills by following NABH standards in patient care.
• To conduct faculty development program which helps the faculty in updating their knowledge in recent advances.
• To upgrade the equipments to an advanced level which will aid in increased efficiency in patient care.
